Dear readers, do you feel like trouble follows you everywhere? If you feel like there is drama
everywhere in your life, take a step back and be honest with yourself. Ask yourself whether you
crave it or attract it? Feeding it? I have learnt that as humans we don’t do anything repeatedly
unless there’s something in it for us, so, what’s the payoff?

Re-evaluate the situation before you react

A lot of drama can take place in our minds, and we tend to make it our reality. Be fully present. It is
hard to hold your tongue when you come up with a brilliant zinger in the heat of the moment. Learn
to listen and observe before you jump in, especially if the interaction or conversation becomes
reactive and emotional.

What kind of people are you attracted to and who do you draw into your life?

If someone repeatedly comes to you with gossip, give yourself a window of time when you’ll just
listen, and then take care of yourself by walking away without getting involved. Often people calm
themselves down when others don’t join into the complaints and drama. The goal is to minimize
people who bring drama to your life.

Finally, ask yourself, is there something I can learn from this?

Look for the lesson, not the feeling. Our lives will always have mini fires that we feel desperate to
put out. If we can learn not to spread the fire, then may actually be able to light our way in life.

Is this something that you can relate to? I would love to know how you avoided drama in your lives.
